To scan a document on your HP Envy 6555e and save it directly as a Word document on your Mac, you need to follow these steps. These instructions use HP Scan software, which should allow you to save your scanned document as a format that can be edited in Microsoft Word.

Install HP Easy Scan on Your Mac

Download and install HP Easy Start: Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads and download the HP Easy Start utility. Install the HP Easy Scan software that comes with it.

Install the full feature software and driver: Ensure you install the full feature software and driver that includes HP Easy Scan for macOS.

Scan the Document Using HP Easy Scan

Open HP Easy Scan: From your Applications list, open HP Easy Scan.

Load the Document: Lift the scanner lid and place the document face down on the scanner glass according to the guide on the edge of the glass.

Set up the Scan:

  • Click the Scanner menu, and then select your HP Envy 6555e printer.
  • Click Presets and then Edit Settings.

Select Document Type:

  • In the Presets settings, select Document in the Type menu.
  • Select Document Feeder or Flatbed in the Source menu, depending on where you placed your document.

Scan the Document:

  • Click Scan to start scanning.

Save the Scanned Document as a Word Document

Adjust the Scan (if necessary): After the scan is complete, you can adjust the scan for brightness, contrast, and other settings.

Save the Scan:

  • Click the Send icon.
  • In the Format menu, select Word Document (*.docx) or Searchable PDF.

Name and Save the File:

  • Enter a name for your scanned document in the File Name box.
