Hi @Jtown_

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To turn off dynamic security on your HP OfficeJet 8600 Plus, you'll need to access the printer's settings through the web interface. Here's how you can do it:

1. Access the Printer's Web Interface:

  • Find the Printer's IP Address:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network > View Network Summary. Note the IP address.
  • Open a Web Browser:
    • Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar and press Enter. This should bring up the printer's web interface.

2. Log in to the Web Interface:

  • You may need to log in. The default username is usually admin, and the default password is either admin or left blank.

3. Navigate to Security Settings:

  • Look for a section labeled Security or Advanced Settings.
  • There, you should find an option related to Dynamic Security.

4. Disable Dynamic Security:

  • If the option is available, you can disable dynamic security. Make sure to save your changes.

5. Restart the Printer:

  • After making changes, it’s a good idea to restart the printer to ensure the settings take effect.

6. Using HP Smart App (if applicable):

  • Alternatively, you can try using the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. Sometimes, there are settings available through the app that might not be visible on the web interface.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I was able to access the printer thru both the web interface and the HP smart app.  Neither of these have the option for dynamic security settings.  I have confirmed i have the latest firmware so would probably have to revert to an earlier version in order to access the setting.  Is there an earlier firmware version that i would be able to access or obtain?

Hi @Jtown_,

I am afraid we do not have that option.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your printer cartridges. We always recommend using genuine HP ink cartridges.

I see that you have an issue using non-HP ink cartridges on your printer.

Please refer to the below links for more information related to your issue.

If you are using generic or Non HP ink cartridges and the above links do not help. You will have to contact the generic ink cartridge manufacturer to assist you further with it or you will have to use genuine HP ink cartridges to resume printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
