I deleted my printer from my Mac because it stopped connecting. I need to reinstall it, but the Mac isn't seeing the printer. How do I reinstall?

@Rodine

A warm welcome to HP Support Community! I'd like to help.

The wireless light on the printer, is it steady or blinking?

Do you have any antivirus software installed on your Mac?

Do you have a guest network enabled on your WiFi router?

What's the make and model of your WiFi router?

Approximately how far is the printer located from the WiFi router?

Could you check for WiFi interference and also perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results. Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by touching the wireless icon on the printer display.

Thanks very much for the reply. Answers to your questions are as follows:

The wrieless light is on steady.

No antivirus on my Mac.

No guest network.

Wifi router is Spectrum's own (don't know who manufactures them for Spectrum).

The printer is about 12 feet from the router.

Results from ping test are:

--- 192.168.1.12 ping statistics ---

10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0.0% packet loss

round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 5.346/8.541/12.860/1.948 ms

You are welcome! It looks like the ping test was a success, It's possible that the wireless router is blocking or not able to forward multicast packet (Bonjour). Multicast packet (Bonjour) allows Apple devices to locate the printer on a WiFi network. Please contact your internet service provider or router manufacturer and check if the router is able to forward multicast packet. If the router is able to forward multicast packets then use the steps available here to troubleshoot the connection issue.

Let me know how it goes!
