HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have been using this 6830 since 2015, and it has worked well until recently.  Suddenly, it will no longer scan or copy.  Scanning from every possible method fails.

I have reason to believe that the printer firmware, which is at the latest version, is corrupted,  This belief comes from a message when the printer was recently powered up that it had been shut down incorrectly.  This would also explain that none of the copy/scan commands from the printer control panel work.

I have tried all the HP diagnostic tools and none of them have helped.  And I have used the published reset procedure, and that has not helped.  One tool has indicated that the printer firmware needs to be updated, but the printer claims that the firmware is at the latest version.  I have downloaded and run the firmware update tool "OJP6830_2050B.exe", but it indicates that the firmware is now at version PNP1CN2050BR, which is the current version, so the tool will not allow the firmware to be reinstalled on this printer.  In other words, HP seems to provide no way to reinstall the firmware, if the firmware "seems" to be at the latest version.

I NEED TO HAVE A WAY to reinstall firmware version PNP1CN2050BR on my printer, to see if the copy/scan problem is due to corrupted firmware.

Any way to do what I need to do?

Thank you very much.
