Hi @vlkeck,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

Unfortunately, if the printer does not have a ethernet port. You wont be able to connect it to the router.

However, you can try to hardwire it to your network by connecting it to your router using a USB cable.

Option 1: USB Connection to a Router

Check your router for a USB port:

  • Some modern routers have a USB port designed for connecting printers or external drives.

Connect your printer to the router:

  • Use a USB cable to connect the printer's USB port to the router's USB port.

Access the router's settings:

  • Log in to your router's configuration page via a web browser. The default IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1) is often printed on the router or in the manual.
  • Look for a Printer or USB Sharing section in the settings.

Enable printer sharing:

  • Follow the router’s instructions to share the connected printer on the network.

Install the printer on your devices:

  • On your computer, add the printer by selecting Add a Printer in the Control Panel (Windows) or Printers & Scanners in System Preferences (macOS).
  • The printer should appear as a network device.

Option 2: Direct USB Connection to a Computer (Alternative)

If your router lacks a USB port, you can connect the printer to a computer and share it with other devices on the network:

Connect the printer to a computer:

  • Use a USB cable to connect the printer to a desktop or laptop.

Enable printer sharing:

  • On Windows:
    1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    2. Right-click your printer and select Printer properties.
    3. Go to the Sharing tab and check Share this printer.
  • On macOS:
    1. Go to System Preferences > Sharing.
    2. Check Printer Sharing and select the printer.

Install the printer on other devices:

  • Add the shared printer from the network settings on other devices.

If the printer only has a usb port you would need a network to usb print server. Keep in mind that you many only get printing support and not scanning.
