HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have a new Dell Inspiron convertible laptop. I want to connect to my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g, however, I have no idea how to do this. It's a while since I bought the printer, but it's still good. I have no idea where install material is, but have got manuals from HP (might as well be written in another language though as it doesn't help for second time install.)

Anyone able to tell me in words of one syllable how to set up so new laptop can talk to the printer? I cannot connect by wifi as I can't remember the password. I have tried connecting printer and laptop via USB /type C  connector, but I am told the power is too little. Help!!!

Please try the following steps on your new computer

(a) Download the following software and save on your machine (please remember where)

        https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40120/bi-108858-4/OJ8600_1316.exe

(b) Right click downloaded file and select Ran as Administrator,

(c) Follow on screen instructions.

Note: Printer won't work on USB-C and may not work on USB 3.0 ports, If you wish to use USB connection, you have to use USB 2.0 ports and ONLY plug cable in when the process asking for.

Is your computer connected to your home network ? If yes, it will help your printer to connect, no need to enter password.

Regards.
