Hi, I purchase a used HP DeskJet 4130e All-in-One Wireless Colour Printer but it is asking to log into the account associated with it. How I can setup the printer without knowing existing HP Smart account ?

Hi @MUK5,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
If you have acquired a used HP printer and don't have access to the existing HP Smart account associated with it, you can set up the printer as if it were a new device. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do this:
Unbox and Prepare the Printer:
- Unbox the printer and ensure that it's in working condition. Connect it to a power source and turn it on.
Connect to Wi-Fi:
- Most HP printers require a Wi-Fi connection to function with modern devices. Follow the printer's on-screen instructions to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. You may need the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password for this step.
Printer Initialization:
- After connecting to Wi-Fi, the printer may go through an initialization process. Allow it to complete.
Install Ink/Toner Cartridges:
- If the printer uses ink or toner cartridges, install them following the printer's instructions.
Load Paper:
- Load paper into the printer's paper tray.
Access HP Smart App on Your Device:
- On your computer, smartphone, or tablet, go to your device's app store (e.g., Google Play Store or Apple App Store) and download the HP Smart app if you haven't already.
Open HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your device.
Add a New Printer:
- In the HP Smart app, there should be an option to add a new printer. Select this option.
Select Printer Model:
- The app will search for nearby HP printers. When it identifies your printer model, select it.
Follow Setup Wizard:
- The app will guide you through the setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Print a Test Page:
- After setup is complete, it's a good idea to print a test page to ensure that the printer is working correctly.
Complete Additional Settings (Optional):
- You can customize printer settings through the HP Smart app, such as setting up cloud printing or enabling additional features.
Register with HP Account (Optional):
- If you wish to register your printer with an HP account for warranty purposes or other benefits, you can do so through the HP Smart app. You can create a new HP account if you don't have one.
By following these steps, you can set up your used HP printer without needing access to the previous owner's HP Smart account. The HP Smart app will help you configure the printer and access various features.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
