HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw. We had a office located at a college, we moved to a new building/business. Cannot set up the printer at new location. Took over job title and previous did not leave password for admin. How can I reset so that our office can use?

Hi @NontechyWa
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
To reset your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw printer to its factory settings and regain access, you can follow these steps:
Power On the Printer: Ensure the printer is powered on.
Access the Control Panel: On the printer's control panel, press the Home button (the house icon).
Navigate to Settings: Use the arrow keys to scroll to Setup or Settings, then press OK.
Restore Factory Defaults:
- Look for an option like Restore Defaults or Reset. This may be under a sub-menu like Service or Tools.
- Select Restore Factory Defaults and confirm your selection.
Reconfigure the Printer: After the reset, you’ll need to set up the printer again, including network settings (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
Set Up Admin Password: Once the printer is set up, you can create a new admin password through the control panel or the web interface.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi @NontechyWa
Welcome to HP Support Community!
We need to perform a reset on the printer to resolve this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Keep me posted.
