Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If you're facing issues with USB connectivity on your HP DeskJet 3630 printer, try the following steps:
Check the USB Cable Connection:
- Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
- Try using a different USB port on your computer to rule out a faulty port.
- Ensure the USB cable is not damaged. If possible, test with a different cable.
Restart Your Devices:
- Turn off your printer and computer.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Reconnect the cable and turn on both devices to see if the connection is established.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Search for your HP DeskJet 3630 model and download the latest drivers.
- Install the drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check Device Manager:
- On your computer, open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Look for the printer in the list of devices. If it’s marked with an error symbol, right-click and select “Update driver.”
- If the printer is not listed, try connecting it to another computer to see if it gets recognized.
Verify Printer Status:
- Ensure your printer is turned on and has no error lights or messages displayed.
- Check for any paper jams or ink cartridge issues, as these can sometimes affect connectivity.
USB Troubleshooter:
- Use Windows built-in USB troubleshooter to detect and fix common USB problems.
- Search for "Troubleshoot" in the Start menu and select "Additional troubleshooters."
- Look for and run the “USB” or "Printer" troubleshooter.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve most USB connection issues with your HP DeskJet 3630.
