HP Envy 5544
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

SInce buying a new computer running the lastest version of Windows 10 64bit I am unable to print to my HP Envy 5544 in dupex or in colour. I can set the duplex unit to installed using the automatic configuration but it resets itself whenever I try to print. There is no colour option in Printingg Preferences. I have followed advice in other threads and deleted the printer and reinstalled to no avail. btw - I can send the document to my iPad and a Linux computer I use and print from there. It prints perfectly. Clearly the problem is either WIndows 10 or the drivers. This has been going on for a while by the looks of the threads here - time to sort it out pdq. Lastly my old computer, running an earlier version of WIndows 10 64 bit but kept up to date, printed just fine.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try using the bult-in drivers: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879

Let me know if this helps.

No, it didn't work. Probably because the advice was for Windows 7 and Vista. The problem is with the latest version of Windows 10!

I've pretty much decided never to use HP product again, throw the thing in the skip and get something that works properly.

To be serious for a moment I suspect that the current drivers from HP are not compatable with Windows 10 any more.

btw - I forgot to say that I had previously removed the HP drivers completely and tried to install the native Windows 10 drivers only to get the HP drivers back again. This was following advice on these forums, given by an HP support engineer.

This situation will need some additional support from our internal teams in HP. For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please do check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Thanks!

Have a great day!
