HP Officejet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I've recently bought a microsoft surface 3, and for some reason when I go to print I can no longer select tray 2, it only comes up with tray 1. I've tried a number of things, looked at preferences, and even followed the steps in this post http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/Easy-selection-printing-to-tray-1-or-2/td-... all the way to step 33, but the paper/quality tab does not appear either.

Can anyone help?

Hi danjambal,

Thank you for your response!

The steps for Windows 8, will work on Windows 10. Please try the following:

  1. Right-click or touch and hold the bottom left side of the screen to open the menu. From the menu, click or tap Control Panel, and then click or tap View devices and printers.

  2. Right-click or touch and hold the printer icon () for your printer, and then click or tap Printing preferences.

  3. From the Printing Preferences menu, select Paper/Quality.

  4. From the Paper Source drop-down menu, select Tray 2.

  5. From the Paper Size drop-down menu, select the appropriate paper size for the print job.

  6. Click or tap Apply, and then click or tap OK.

     NOTE:

Follow these same steps to switch the default print tray back to Tray 1.

if these steps do not work, there could be a driver related issue. Please try our HP Print and Scan Doctor, and let me know what happens!
