Hello, I have been trying to fix my printer the past two weeks and have no such luck. I have printed my print quality diagnostic and the printer alignment page but I have no luck with being able to scan the document. See how it prints attached >>

Please advise how I can fix this. I have read through the forums and haven't found a resolution to this. Thank you.

Welcome to HP support community.
Check the scanner bar functionality: partially lift the scanner lid, and then press the Copy button or icon. If the scanner light does not illuminate or move across the glass.
Meanwhile:
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware
Here are the steps:- Click here
I hope that helps.

Hi Sandy, thank you for your message. I appreciate it. I did try both options you mentioned and neither worked for me. I was able to make a copy but when I try and scan the alignment page, it says it cannot be detected. Here is a photo of what my alignment page looks like. As you can see, it's not very clear. Please advise. Thank you~

Clean the ink cartridges
-
Load the printer with plain white paper.
-
On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup
.
-
Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.
The printer prints a Print Quality Diagnostic report.
-
Examine the print quality on the Print Quality Diagnostic report.
-
If the print quality is acceptable, touch No. You can stop troubleshooting.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Yes when prompted to perform the next level of cleaning.
-
I hope that helps.

Hi Sandy,
Unfortunately, I am still hitting the same issue. I saw another post about removing the black ink cartridge and letting it sit out (upside down) to see if the printing was clear with the color cartridge. It is clear and visible when just using the color cartridge but then when I put the black cartridge back in, it's like the screenshots I have sent you above. I tried doing the cleaning option like you said and then I tried a new alignment page when I re-installed the cartridges and I am getting the same result as before and with that, it says the alignment page is not detected when I try to scan.
Any thoughts? It appears the issue is with the black ink from what I can tell...
