Hello, im trying to help my sister set up her printer. She was doing fine on her own but it suddenly started to change and wouldnt let her use her printer anymore. Our wifi is fine and is working good.  And This happened to me but it was the app (hp smart app from the microsoft which wouldnt find my printer but that was solved after i fiddled with it) but now i cant redownload the hp smart app because everytime i download it, it gives me a “retry button” and “there has been an error” message. I did what the google searched told me win+r, powershell, reset/repair the microsoft settings, but still, nothing worked. Please help me solve this. I tried everything and nothing still work.

Also its fully updated and nothing was wrong with it until now. She used to used my printer and it worked perfectly for her for the past 2 years, but she decided to get her own and then this happened.

Hi @Jessiehy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering issues with downloading and installing the HP Smart app on your HP Envy x360 laptop. Let's try a systematic approach to troubleshoot and resolve the problem. Please follow these steps:

  1. Check Internet Connection: Make sure that your internet connection is stable and working. Sometimes, a poor internet connection can cause download errors.
  2. Use an Alternative Browser: Try downloading the HP Smart app using a different web browser. This can help rule out browser-related issues.
  3. Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall software, as they may be blocking the download or installation. Be sure to enable them again after the installation is complete.
  4. Clear Browser Cache: If you're downloading the app from a browser, clear the browser cache and try again.
  5. Use a Different Download Source: If you're downloading from the Microsoft Store, try downloading from the official HP website and vice versa.
  6. Check System Date and Time: Ensure that the date and time settings on your laptop are correct, as incorrect settings can sometimes interfere with app installations.
  7. Update Windows: Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Check for Windows updates and install any pending updates.
  8. Run Windows Troubleshooter: Use the built-in Windows Troubleshooter to identify and fix issues related to the installation of apps. You can find this in the Settings menu under "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot" > "Additional troubleshooters."

Manually Install HP Smart App: If the download from the store is not working, you can try manually downloading the HP Smart app from the official HP website and then installing it. Here is the link: HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
