Hi @Nooshin54,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To remove a previous owner's Instant Ink account from your HP 2742e printer, follow these steps:

Reset the Printer: Start by performing a factory reset on your printer. This will clear any settings, including account links. To reset your printer, you generally need to navigate through the printer’s menu. Here's a common way to do it:

  • Go to the printer's control panel or settings menu.
  • Look for an option like “Setup” or “Settings.”
  • Find “Printer Maintenance” or a similar option.
  • Choose “Restore Factory Defaults” or “Reset.”

Disconnect from Instant Ink: If the printer is still linked to an Instant Ink account after a reset, you may need to manually disconnect it:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the settings or network setup menu.
  • Look for options related to Instant Ink or HP Connected.
  • Follow prompts to disconnect or remove the existing account information.

Reconfigure the Printer:

  • After resetting, you will need to set up your printer again. Connect it to your Wi-Fi network and configure any necessary settings.

Register with Your Own Instant Ink Account: If you want to use Instant Ink, sign up for your own account at HP Instant Ink. During the setup process, you should be able to link the printer to your new Instant Ink account.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
