IOS is Mac Sonoma

I have connected the printer to the computer using wifi. It says all is good to go.

It says it is printing and makes all the noises - but nothing happens.

It is reminding me of my ex husband...

What am I doing wrong?

Hi @Mo-B67

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.

Let’s get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8120e to actually follow through on its promises.

Possible Causes & Fixes

Check for macOS Sonoma Compatibility Issues

  • Some HP printers have had trouble with macOS Sonoma due to driver compatibility.
  • Try updating your printer drivers from HP’s support page.

Reset the Printing System

  • Go to System SettingsPrinters & Scanners.
  • Right-click your printer and select Reset Printing System.
  • Re-add the printer and try printing again.

Check AirPrint Settings

  • macOS Sonoma relies heavily on AirPrint for HP printers.
  • Go to Printers & Scanners, click Add Printer, and select AirPrint if available.

Run HP’s Diagnostic Tools

  • HP has troubleshooting guides for Sonoma-related printing issues here.
  • If your printer is making noises but not printing, it could be a communication issue between macOS and the printer.

If it still refuses to cooperate, let me know what happens at each step, and we’ll dig deeper! Hopefully, this printer won’t ghost you. 😆
