Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are unable to connect the printer to MacBook Air. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • When did this issue start?
  • Did you do any hardware or software changes?
  • Are you getting any error message?

Meanwhile

Manually connect the printer to your network

  1. Gather the following items:

    • Network name (SSID)

    • Network security password (WEP key or WPA passphrase)

    • A computer that is connected to your wireless network

  2. Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables from the printer.

  3. On the printer control panel, select the Setup, Network, or Wireless menu.

  4. Select Wireless Setup Wizard, then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your network.

Reset the print system

  1. Click the Apple menu, then click System Preferences.

  2. Depending on your version of OS X, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

  3. Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, then click Reset printing system.

  4. Click Reset in the confirmation window.

  5. Enter the Administrator name and password, then click OK.

  6. Wait for the printing system to reset. When complete, no printers should display in the list.

Uninstall the HP software

  1. Click Finder in the Dock.

  2. In the menu bar, click Go, click Applications, and then open the HP or Hewlett Packard folder.

  3. Double-click HP Uninstaller, then follow the on-screen instructions to remove the HP software from the computer.

Reinstall the HP software

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the computer.

  3. Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.

  4. If prompted, select a method to identify your printer model, then follow the on-screen instructions to go to the downloads page.

  5. Click Download next to HP Easy Start or next to the full feature driver, depending on the option that displays.

  6. Open the Downloads folder, then open the HP Easy Start file or the full feature driver .dmg file to begin the installation.

  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer connection and install the software.

  8. If you are prompted to add the printer to the printer queue, click the name of your printer, click the Use or Print Using menu, select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu, and then click Add.

  9. Return to the HP installer to complete the installation.

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.
