Hi @jkelly63,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble getting your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer to work with your laptop, particularly with the driver, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Uninstall the Current Driver:
- Start by uninstalling the existing printer software. You can do this through the Control Panel by going to "Programs and Features" or "Apps & Features," selecting the HP software, and choosing to uninstall it.
- Additionally, you can remove the driver from the Print Server Properties. To do this, type printui /s /t2 in the Run dialog (Windows + R) to access the Print Server Properties, then navigate to the Drivers tab to delete the HP driver from there.
Download and Install the Latest Driver:
- Visit the HP Support website to download the latest driver for your printer. Make sure to select the correct operating system version (Windows 10/11).
- During installation, ensure that your printer is connected and powered on.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Sometimes, Windows updates can impact printer functionality. Make sure your system is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- HP offers a tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can help diagnose and fix printing and scanning issues. You can download it from the HP support site.
Firewall and Antivirus Settings:
- If you're using a firewall or antivirus software, it may be blocking the printer driver. Temporarily disable these security measures to see if it resolves the issue, and then re-enable them afterward.
Reinstall the Printer:
- After performing the steps above, add the printer back to your laptop. You can do this from the "Printers & Scanners" settings in Windows.
Following these steps should help you restore printing functionality from your laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
