Manuals are here.  If there is a problem loading a manual, use Firefox

According to the users manual USB should not be used for the initial setup.

Printers with a label covering the USB port must be set up with HP Smart and an Internet
connection. After setup, you can print using a USB cable if needed, but the printer must
also remain connected to the Internet.

Setup can be done with a smartphone and HP Smart.  I will outline the Wi-Fi setup using the front panel.  I assume you want to connect the printer to the router.

Turn on Wi-Fi (page 9 & 10 of Users Guide).  Leave USB unplugged.

Look for the name of your Wi-Fi system.

Connect to it and use the Wi-Fi password printed on the modem or the one you used on your smartphone if using Wi-Fi assist or networking.

If the names does not show up or the password is rejected then that is a different problem.
