I found and installed the HP Easy Scan software and it worked. Has been scanning fine so far.

@Timothy_55, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

Upon checking I see that we don't have supported scanner drivers for Mac OS 10.15 Catalina. Unfortunately, we have no Mac scan functionality.

You can only use the printer to print from the computer.
