@PifelPrinter, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're having trouble registering your HP ENVY Inspire printer because the system isn't recognizing the serial number. Let's get this sorted out together.

Here are a few steps to help resolve the issue:

Double-check the Serial Number

  • Make sure you're entering the correct serial number. It’s usually a 10-character alphanumeric code.
  • You can find it:
    • On a label at the back or bottom of the printer.
    • On the printer’s control panel: Go to Settings > Printer Information.
    • Or print a Network Configuration Page from the printer.

Install HP Support Assistant

Clear Browser Cache or Try a Different Browser

  • Sometimes, browser issues can interfere with registration. Try:
    • Clearing your browser cache.
    • Using a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

Check for Typos

  • Common mistakes include:
    • Confusing 0 (zero) with O (letter O).
    • Confusing 1 (one) with I (capital i) or L (lowercase L)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
