Hi @Canyonelf
Try this alternative software:
HP Scan Extended
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
This resource shows you how to scan in higher DPI:
Create a scan shortcut and high resolution scans (HP Officejet Pro 8700 AiO series and 6900 series)
(HP Scan Extended uses similar Software interface as those shown)
Hope that helps!

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Tried selecting only the Source as "Scan Glass" to get the 600 DPI.
This post explains how to get to a higher dpi for scan:

My scanner is Envy 4520 printer. A printer app comes up when I call up scanners or type scan into Cortana. Settings are right on the page. I looked at settings. I can choose glass or ADF. I have glass. I have photo. I have entire scanning area. The highest dpi is 300. I did my painting with 300 dpi and the thin lines turned into dashes. I pulled out my old HP printer and got the painting looking nice at 600 dpi.

I clicked on the link and it comes right back to this post.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Perhaps you can give me the link to the program? The uTube link is for a different printer. I understand the process is similar. But, I need the program.
