I have a HP Envy Photo 7100 and I was able to print either to my printer or when I hit print I was also able to print to PDF and have it saved to a file or folder.. I was set up with the Printer Name as: Scan Only - HP Envy Photo 7100 series.
Can someone help or provide me with someone I can talk to? I know I am out of warranty, but I will pay for the service if needed.

@Tensia, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you previously had the option to print to PDF alongside your HP Envy Photo 7100 printer, and you're looking to restore that functionality. I’d be happy to help!
Windows includes a built-in Microsoft Print to PDF feature that allows you to save documents as PDF files from any application that supports printing.
Step-by-Step: Enable "Microsoft Print to PDF"
Open Control Panel
Press Windows + S, type Control Panel, and open it.
Go to Programs and Features
Click on Programs > Turn Windows features on or off.
Enable Microsoft Print to PDF
- In the list, scroll down and check the box for Microsoft Print to PDF.
- Click OK and restart your computer if prompted.
Verify the Printer is Added
- Press Windows + S, type Printers & scanners, and open it.
- You should now see Microsoft Print to PDF listed as one of your printers.
Try Printing to PDF
- Open any document (e.g., Word, browser page).
- Press Ctrl + P and choose Microsoft Print to PDF from the printer list.
- Click Print, and you’ll be prompted to save the file as a PDF.
About “Scan Only - HP Envy Photo 7100 series”
This sounds like a custom printer name or a scan profile that was previously set up. If you’re looking to restore scanning functionality:
- Download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store: HP Smart
- Use it to manage your printer, scan documents, and access additional features.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
