I am desperately trying to update the Firmware Update Utility to upgrade the firmware of my P1102W form it 2015 version to the laters 2018 relase. There is no way I can run the firmware upgrade software on Mojave or even High Sierra. It seems the SW package is not conpatible withe te latest Mac OS Releases.
Each time I try to launch the HP Firmware Upgrade Utility I get this error message saying "impossible to open HP Firmware Upgrade Utlity. Please eject the Disk Image".
Any Idea on how I can solve this issue? Thanks

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are unable to update the printer firmware.
I made a research and see that HP LaserJet P1102W printer does not support Mojave and High Sierra OS.
Let me know if that helps.

well, the printer is perfectly supported. It's currently istalled on my mac-only home network. I have the driver installed and I have been perfectly able to print in Mojave and in High Sierra. I can also access the web interface of the printer and configure it as needed.
The only thing I cannot do is update its firmware.
Please do not tell me I have to use windows to do it...

It looks like you were interacting with @sandytechy20, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.
Since the printer is connected to your home WiFi we can use the printer EWS page to update the printer firmware. If the wireless light on the printer is steady, use the steps below to enable Web Services and setup automatic updates.
1.) Use the steps available here to print a device configuration page. Locate the printer IP address or IPv4 address from the device configuration page.
2.) Open a web browser on a connected device and type the printer IP address onto the address bar and hit Enter. The EWS information page for the printer opens.
3.) Click the Web Services tab and click Enable to turn on Web services and automatic updates.
Once web services is enabled, printer will automatically search and install the latest firmware update available for your printer.
Let me know how it goes!

tanks for your tutorial. it was very clear.
I followed all your instructions and my printer is now connected to the web. I even printed stuff sending emails from my mobile. it's a bit slow but it works. Cool!
Infortunately I did not find any sub-menu to update the firmware straight from the printer and I can see that mine is still running firmware version 20150114 (4 YO!!!). I have seen that there is a 2018 version available...
Any more suggestions?
Thanks again

Hi KrazyToad
that link is exactly the tarting point of my post.
Is there someone who was able to run that install file on a mac running High Sierra? I sincerely doubt it.
I have tried on 4 different macs w/o success...
