These questions have to do with the installation of an HP OfficeJet HP9135e printer on a MacBook Pro laptop with OS 12 (Monterey):
- What is the most reliable and least dangerous way to change the name of the printer:
- Go to the “HP OfficeJet Pro 9130e Series” web page for the printer and select “General: About the Printer: Configure Information”.
- Use the “Printers & Scanners” page in System Preferences on my Mac.
- Use the “Options” settings available from the Print Queue window on my Mac.
- Some other method?
- How can I change the printer email address for sending print jobs to the printer using emails sent from my iPhone?
- This printer replaced an old printer that died. I was able to delete the old printer from my HP Account at the HP Smart web page, but it still shows up in the HP Smart app on my laptop. How can I get rid of the old printer in the HP Smart app on my laptop?
I hope someone can answer these questions. Thanks.

- Click on the printer icon or the “Manage Printers” option (this can usually be found in the main menu or settings).
Remove Printer:

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, your suggestion didn’t work on my computer with my MacOS (12) and my version of the HP Smart app. The options you describe don’t show up. So what I finally did was to “Hide” the old printer.

I did what you suggested to change the printer’s name. But that only changed the name in the Mac local network at my home. But I did find a way to also change the name on the HP Smart app. I can’t remember what I did. Even after all that, the name on the HP Smart web page is still the long cumbersome name the printer came with: “HP OfficeJet Pro 9130e Series”. I try to ignore that.
What you describe to change the printer’s email address doesn’t work for me. On the HP Smart web page, when I select my printer, I don’t see a Settings or ePrint option. The only options are Update Plan and Remove Printer. However, when I first received the printer, I did something that displayed the printer's email address. I don ‘t remember what it was that I did. The one time I saw the printer’s email address, I recorded it. I’m resolved to leave it unchanged.
