Hi @kgwam
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
f you're receiving an "Invalid PIN code" message when trying to connect or access your printer, even though you're sure the code is correct, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Double-Check the PIN
- Ensure that you are entering the PIN exactly as it appears. Sometimes, there may be confusion with zeros (0) and the letter "O," or similar characters.
2. Reset Network Settings
- If you recently changed your Wi-Fi network or if the printer was connected to a different network, resetting the network settings may help:
- Go to the printer's control panel.
- Navigate to Settings > Network Setup or Wireless Settings.
- Look for an option to Restore Network Defaults.
3. Reconnect to the Network
- After resetting the network settings, reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to find and connect to your network.
- When prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password (not the PIN).
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP support website.
5. Restart Devices
- Restart both your printer and the device you're trying to connect from (phone, computer, etc.). Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connection issues.
6. Use the HP Smart App
- If you're trying to connect via a mobile app, consider using the HP Smart app. It often simplifies the connection process and can help troubleshoot issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
