Hi there
Whilst that pkg does show as 'successfully installed' and the printer appears as a option - all jobs sent to it do not print. The printer just shows in the OS as 'offline'. After a few further attempts of removing/adding the printer from within preferences. I have managed to get it to print a document. So it seems to have worked once. However the printer keeps showing as 'offline' - even when it is connected via USB. If I go to print a subsequent document, I have to power cycle the printer and disconnect/reconnect the USB connection to get it to 'see' the printer again. It works but it is not 100% problem free.

Hi,
Please make sure you hold the CTRL key, right-click HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg and select Open to launch the installation and then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation, do not double-click the file.
If the same error returns then, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy. what option is currently selected for Gatekeeper?
If you could reinstall the drivers by using this method, power on the printer and ensure it is connected, open System Preferences > Printers & scanners and press the Plus sign.
Select your printer, then be sure to select your printer model within the Use drop-down menu and press on Add, then try printing.

Hi, I also have an air m1.
Installing the driver that I downloaded from the link from this topic helped to install the printer.
Now I have a new problem.
The printer becomes offline in a few seconds after connecting. To print documents, I have to send the document to print, then disconnect the USB cable from the laptop, and immediately connect it. It is not comfortable. How to fix it?

I have the same problem printing from the Macbook Air M1 Big Sur to the HP Laserjet Pro M1212. I have downloaded the HP Easy Start and HP Admin and it will install the printer, and from both USB and wireless, it shows "Printer Offline." I am unable to print from this computer!!
Thanks.
