I have a new DedkJet 4155e that was set up using HP Smart on my phone. I have had everyone use the link to add HP Smart to their personal devices. As long ans the printer is on, Everything works. After a couple hours my printer turns off and and I can no longer print. HP Smart shows the printer as unavailable. The WiFi button is solid blue, and the “I” is orange.  I push the power button and nothing happens. I push and hold the power button and nothing happens. The only way to get it to work is to unplug the printer and plug it back in. In the advanced settings this auto off can not be changed. Having to unplug, and plug the printer back in is not a viable long term solution. What am I missing, and how do I fix this?

Hi @Eclan ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your HP DeskJet 4155e printer turning off and becoming unavailable after a certain period. This can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to address known issues. Check the HP website for the latest firmware for your printer model and follow their instructions to update it.

Power Settings: Review the power settings on your printer. If there's an auto-off feature that's causing the printer to turn off after a specific period, try adjusting or disabling it if possible. Refer to the printer manual or HP Smart app settings for this.

Network Stability: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is stable and that the printer is within a reasonable range of the router. Unstable connections can lead to devices being disconnected.

Printer Connection: Verify that the printer is properly connected to the Wi-Fi network. If there are intermittent connectivity issues, it might be causing the printer to become unavailable. Reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network if necessary.

Printer Reset: If the printer becomes unresponsive, try performing a power cycle. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

HP Smart App Settings: In the HP Smart app, check for any specific settings related to printer power management or connectivity. There may be an option to adjust the behavior of the printer when it's not in use.

I hope this helps.
