@betty0610 - First of all , there is no private message that has been sent to me.

Second,  the entire group is waiting on a response, it is not just a private matter.

I urge you to deal with this PUBLICALLY instead of tryin to address a single user's needs.

The problem is VERY VERY SIMPLE. your latest updater for firmware does not work.

Re-read the thread and fix it. People are hacking together to fix a issue that honestly should have never existed.

@betty I have spent over 5 hours of my time with your support team in the Phillipines trying to resolve this. As you can see it is a problem we are all having

JUST SO YOU KNOW- the latest firmware release includes a Cloud certificate update. The cloud certificate is basically a public encryption key which allows us authenticate and connect to the E-Print services.

So if we cant get the new cert pushed to the printer, we CANT USE THE SERVICES. We cant get the new cert pushed if we cant update the firmware.

Pretty straightforward.

Indeed, many of us have encountered this update problem, and this since several versions of the firmware.

I successfully upgraded mine. Just use mac os 10.10 to run the firmware update tool. Here is the link

You've failed to read the posts. It's the windows 10 update tool that's broken.

We don't have MAC OS here.

While the Mac updater may work correctly, getting access to a Mac just to perform this one simple task may be impossible for a large percentage of the people with this printer.

HP - It has been four months since this issue was reported. This is more than ample time to have your app engineers push an update to the installer. This is not a new feature request but a critical bug fix which should be prioritized in any software environment. When will this be fixed?

Nope, must 10.10 😞

I have the same problem.  My computers are Windows 10 and cannot update our printer firmware with the 20201012 firmware.  Looks like this has been going on for over 4 months now.

FIVE MONTHS NOW

Five months and some days! and I still can't understand why HP doesn't care about its customers  at all!!!!!!

So here are some fun facts relating to this problem:

1. HP had similar problems in the past.

2. HP doesn't learn from its mistakes and repeats them again and again!

3. HP removes the archive of its drivers and firmwares despite releasing buggy updates and they don't even care enough to keep at least one previous version of its apps!

4. Every page you visit in their website they encourage you to buy ink and paper from them yet they never feel responsible for their customers.

5. They always advertise their products with fancy options, and as everyone here knows already all these fancy options never work fine.

I really feel I'm done with HP...

About the Problem here:

Before reading this thread, initially I thought maybe the update to version 20200513 which was also buggy and I had to force it in a similar way to what people had suggested in the first posts in this thread has kinda made my printer incompatible with this new firmware upgrade, so I thought a downgrade may solve the problem.

I looked up in the internet and the first thing I found was version 20150228 -which I found out later seems to be the only version available on the internet at the moment other than the latest version-  and well I downgraded. Obviously this didn't solve my problem and I still couldn't upgrade to the latest version of firmware.

Then I tried to google the problem itself and it led me here. After reading this thread I found that the problem seems to be kinda global and I'm not the only one with this problem.

I saw someone had mentioned that macOS version of the latest drivers works for him, so I examined the macOS file and as I noticed, there were  3 variants of driver - nw, fn, fw - in the dmg file released for macOS while the windows version had just one file for all variants.

I thought as the firmware is intended for the printer, it should be OS independent, so I tried to extract the fw variant from dmg file and use it in windows installer but still no luck. The printer ignores it just like the normal 20201013 version.

And finally  I thought maybe if I had the 20200513 version already installed, I could upgrade using this method but UNFORTUNATELY and for no LOGİCAL REASON, suddenly HP has decided to remove it's archive of firmwares for its products and as a matter of the fact I couldn't find that version or in fact any other version of the firmware to test my theory.

So if you guys still are on the 20200513 version try this, maybe you get luckier than me.

P.S. If someone happens to have 20200513 version, please & please upload it somewhere and post the link here. I'm stuck in the 2015 version right  now. :((((
