The touchscreen on my printer has started responding oddly.  The various functions no longer work when their icon is touched but they all work "one to the left"but this makes the functions on the left of the screen unusable from the touchpad.  Ihae tried rebooting the printer and have updated the software and drivers none of which resolved the problem. The printer is working perfectly well otherwise.  I am reluctant to do a factory reset as I'm not certain of being able to navigate to the function or, if I do and it doesn't resolve, being able to re-enter the wep key for the wirless network.  Any halp or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@JWD65

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, the touchscreen does not work as expected,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Hard reset:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Firmware Update: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Let me know how this goes,

Good Luck!

I tried both of the suggested solutions - the hard reset and the firmware update and nothing happened.  Is there anything else I can do?

Touch screen on my HP CM 1415 fnw is not responding!  I tried all instructions posted online, but no luck.  Anyone can help any other methods?

Thank you.
