I spent over 8 hours on my M209dw printer but I just could not complete the setup and I have run out of every possible method to fix it:
1) I started using a WiFi connection, but I could not find my printer on the Printer and Scanner in the Settings. I lived in an apartment so I do not have a router. Instead, I directly connected to the internet via a login page.
2)Then I shifted to USB connection, it worked for the first time and I got my paper printed. But just a few minutes later it failed again. When I clicked "Print" in Word, I could hear the printer working for a few seconds, and then stopped.
3)Finally I connected the printer with my laptop with an ethernet cable and not surprisingly, failed again.
4)The most ridiculous thing is, I tried to restart wireless setup mode according to the reference guide. I tried over ten times, but the printer showed no response. The status light remains amber and the Information button continues pulsing.
Currently, I really have no idea what's wrong with my one-day-old printer. It looks beautiful and the printing quality is great. On the other hand, the HPsmart software is confusing and frustrating. If I could not fix this problem, I have to return this product and I will never purchase anything from HP anymore.
