The formatter has to be replaced.

HP Recommended

I already tried with a different PC and different cable. Same result: the PC doesn't recognise the device when it is connected.

Bad formatter needed to be replaced.

HP Recommended

With the term formatter you mean the PC?

HP Recommended

Not on the PC, it's on the printer.

Formatter is the one where you plug USB or network cable onto and somebody calls it mother board.

OK, how I can replace the formatter? Is there a HP center near Milano (Italy) that can fix the problem?

HP Recommended

Can't help you with that, I'm in Taiwan,Asia.

You can go to YouTube and google "how to fix hp color laserjet pro mfp m176n fuser error" which it'll help you to know how to disassemble HP M176.

You only need to see left side cover taken off will be done and there's no need to go further.

I'm not a technician and I don't want to disassemble the printer.

The point is that HP released a firmware update that makes the printer unusable.

And instead of take the responsibility of that the support (I'm in Italy) they say that since the printer is not covered by warranty right now, they cannot do nothing to fix the problem that THEIR software caused.

We shall escalate this case.
