HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw

I have tried to install the HP driver software from the HP website (it says for OS12) on my new Macbook Pro. The software says it's installed successfully but then says it cannot communicate with the printer, neither when connected via the network nor when directly connected. Is OS12.1 supported for my printer? Many thanks.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Are you getting any error messages?

Thanks.

I can add the printer and print to it by selecting a generic driver, but this doesn't provide the full functionality of the printer and doesn't allow scanning. When I try to add the printer by selecting the appropriate HP Laserjet 100 etc driver, I get the message:-

"An error occurred while trying to add the selected device. Unable to communicate with the printer at this time."

Other computers on the home network can access, print and scan using the printer without any problems.

I have exactly the same issue on Monteray 12.2.  Everthing works fine on MAC (High Sierra) desktop but not on macbook pro.  Any help appreciated

Update Just found new drivers added a couple of days ago to HP site and they have fixed the issue

Thanks Seasick-Sailor for alerting me to the new software.

To HP Support:

I have got a bit further, but still have a problem. When I came to the part in the installation where the printer is being added, which is where I previously had the 'unable to communicate' issue, and I click that I want the HP driver, both buttons become grey and also the continue button is grey and I can go no further, i.e. to the next stage to print a test page.

When I look at Printers & Scanners, the printer is there. When I try to print a document, nothing is printed. The document is in the print queue, but says print job not accepted when I try again to send it to the printer.

On the plus side, I can scan successfully.

Any help appreciated.

Can HP Support help, before I throw this HP printer out of the window!!?

I have used HP Easy Start to uninstall and start again. I get exactly the same grey'ed buttons when the install gets to the stage of adding the printer. I have found the Easy Start Log if that would help.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
