Do what I suggested before:
The solution is to download (and install) this package (From HP FTP) which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...
The install takes a bit. Let it run, even if it seems like it stalled out!
It is NOT the same as the driver package, Easy Start, or Easy Admin other people are recommending.
If the link comes up blank, try right/control clicking and saving it (it takes a while to download, and a while to install). If you install this package and still have trouble, try restarting. Then go about uninstalling your printer USING THIS METHOD ONLY (NOT EASY START, NOT EASY ADMIN): Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners. Then restart your computer. The reinstall using the same menu in Printers & Scanners and use the default driver.
If you still can't find the printer, install the 5.1 driver package from HP: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US
Then restart and try to install again through the Printers & Scanners menu.
Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!
If this solved your issue, please thumbs up and mark as solved!
If that doesn't work, start a new thread, and PM me with the link, and I'll help you there. I will not be following this particular thread any longer.

I downloaded HP Easy Start. I now get the "matterhorn.framework" will damage your computer pop up. If I click OK twice, it prints!!! Since HP knows this is a problem, hoping they will correct to get the pop up to go away.

I installed the recommended HP printer essentials S-5_14_8_4 package. When I tried running it I kept getting malware warnings from my Mac. When a file would pop up saying it would damage my computer, I deleted that file. I wound up deleting a PDE.plugin, PPD, and a Processing filter file. As soon as the third file was deleted an item that was still in the print spool started printing. I tested with several different programs and that seems to have done the trick.

I have the same issue and frankly am surprised that Apple actually sent something to HP. I was on with Apple Support twice in the last 2 days, finally to be told today that Apple's update caused the HP software not to work and HP has to update its firmware "so call HP and good luck." I also cannot get through to HP.
