Hi. I've installed windows 10 from windows 7 and everything was working well. After about a week the "Print on Both Sides Instruction" pop-up box stopped appearing. The printer is a HP 1315. I've tried every possible setting and the latest driver from HP. The strange thing is that if I reinstall windows 7 and do a clean upgrade to Win 10, the "Print on Both Sides Instruction" pop-up box appears as normal for a couple of days. I get the feeling that something in the "spoolsv.exe is not allowing the pop-up box and the print job is printing without pause even though the option to "Print on both side" is selected. I've tried everything I know, even "Process Monitor" and "Process Explorer" to try to nail down whats happening. The file HPZEVLHN.DLL, which contains the pop-up box, is not being called in Win 10 but is in Win 7. Anybody got any ideas ?

Thank you for your quick reply. In following your directions for installing the default driver, I discovered what I had been doing wrong. I'd been using a third party app, which I'd given administrative rights to, to open my documents. Somehow this was causing the problem. By removing the administrative rights the manual duplex pop-up box is working as it should. I went back to the driver downloaded from HP and all is now well. As usual the problem was caused by user error… me. Thanks for your help which indirectly help me solve this tricky problem.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP PSC 1315 All-in-One Printer and printing from the Win10 operating system. I read that for some reason the option for "Print on Both Sides Instruction" pop-up box has stopped appearing. You have reinstalled the latest drivers for Win10, If you downgrade to Win7 and do a clean upgrade to Win 10, the "Print on Both Sides Instruction" pop-up box appears as normal for a couple of days. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.
It indicates towards a driver issue. Due to some conflict in the drivers this is happening. Not to worry I have a workaround for this.
I recommend you to perform the steps to install the inbuilt printer drivers in Win10. Please refer to this link.
NOTE: When your reach the screen which contains the list of drivers, Please select the manufacturer as HP or Hewlett Packard and select drivers for HP PSC 1315 All-in-One Printer and continue with the installation.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
