Hi,
I have an HP Envy 4500. It had been working fine but then I started getting printer errors. It still works on my Wife's Macbook. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and followed all the instructions from a Previous solution but this did not work. Any additional thoughts?
Thanks,

Try the below suggestions-
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor specifically created to help with printer offline conditions.
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
- Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
- If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
- If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
- If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
Connect the printer to TCP/IP port- follow the below instructions-
--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address
a. Click Start/Devices and Printers. Right-click on your HP Printer. Select Printer Properties. Select the Ports tab at the top.
b. Select Add Port. Select Standard TCP/IP Port. Select New Port.
c. Follow the Add Port Wizard. Under Printer Name or IP Address, . Example: 192.168.1.15. The IP address will be copied under Port Name.
d. Select Next and Finish the Wizard.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted

Hi @KrazyToad,
Thanks for getting back to me. Can I ask a few questions for clarification.
"1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features " is this the same as "Apps and features"?
and if so
"2.) Select your HP Printer" Should I be selecting "HP Smart" as I do not see something for my individual printer
Thanks!

HI @KrazyToad
Working on step 9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
I get an error that
Unable to remove HP ENVY 4500 Series Class Driver, x64, Type 4 - User Mode driver.
The specified driver is currently in use.
In the attached images you can see
1. that I removed the printer.
2. The error
3./4. What I clicked from the drivers menu
5. That there are no HP apps on the computer.
I have already tried rebooting then removing the driver.
Thanks,
-Brian

Hi @JAY_G24
I tried to go through the recommended steps again and took screen shots of errors along the way.
When attempting to delete my printer software I got the below errors:
Error -2081883401: Failed to uninstall device with serial number: CN570341WB05X4.
and
Error -2081883395: Failed to uninstall device with serial number:
Then when I was running the file EN4500_198.exe downloaded from: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL47762/mp-115701-6/EN4500_198.exe
I get an error that I cannot connect to the internet:
Since my internet is connected I am not sure what to do next. If I go straight to the address provided it just has me download the same exe file again. Additionally in Printers I now see that my printer does not have drivers installed.
Additionally when I open my computer I got a message that my scanner no longer works because the printer is not connected to the network. It should be noted that the printer still works on my wifes airbook.
Please advise on next steps,
thanks,
-Brian
