Unfortunately, there is no solution to your problem. This is a hardware problem. Therefore, the printer must be checked by a service.
I'm not an employee of HP, I'm as volunteer here.

Thanks for your time and for confirming what I suspected--the touchscreen has been "flakey" pretty much since the day I bought this printer. GREAT printer with the exception of the touchscreen.
The only thing I can't do via my HP Smart computer dashboard is COPY--would be nice to see HP update the HP Smart dashboard to include a COPY button.
Yes, I know I can scan and then print as many copies as I like, but a simple COPY button on the HP Smart screen would be very convenient and fewer steps
