Hi @Suelovescarl,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Envy 5012 is experiencing issues with printing specific types of documents or from certain applications. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Check Printer Status: Ensure the printer is online and there are no error messages on the printer’s display.

Update Printer Drivers: Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your HP Envy 5012. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing issues.

Check Print Queue:

  • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what's printing. Make sure there are no stuck print jobs.
  • On macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click Open Print Queue. Clear any stuck print jobs.

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that all ink cartridges have sufficient ink and are properly installed.

Run Printer Troubleshooter:

  • On Windows: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Printer and run the troubleshooter.
  • On macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click Open Print Queue, then click Resume if it’s paused.

Reset Printer: Try performing a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on how to do this.

Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually update this through the printer’s menu or the HP Smart app.

Try Different Applications: Try printing from a different application or document type to see if the issue is specific to one program.

Check Connectivity: Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a network printer, ensure it's connected to the same network as your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
