My HP OfficeJet 5260 won't print. I turned it off, unplugged it, restarted Windows and then reconnected the printer. The blue light is on but when I try to print something from a website, nothing prints.

Hi @rtmath52,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 5260 is not printing even after performing basic troubleshooting steps, there are a few additional steps you can take to try and resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or connected to the same network if it's a wireless printer.

Printer Status:

  • Check if there are any error messages or warnings on the printer's display panel. Resolve any issues indicated by the printer.

Printer Queue:

  • Open the print queue on your computer to check if there are any pending print jobs. Clear any stuck or pending print jobs.

Printer Software:

  • Make sure that the HP printer software is installed correctly on your computer. If you haven't installed the latest drivers, download and install them from the official HP website.

Default Printer:

  • Ensure that the HP OfficeJet 5260 is set as the default printer. You can do this through the "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" settings on your Windows computer.

Restart Print Spooler:

  • Open the Services application by pressing Win + R, typing "services.msc," and pressing Enter.
  • Locate the "Print Spooler" service, right-click on it, and select "Restart."

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the official HP website, download the latest drivers for your printer model, and install them.

Test Print:

  • Try printing a test page from the printer itself. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel.

Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Use the built-in Windows Printer Troubleshooter. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot" > "Additional troubleshooters," and run the Printer troubleshooter.

Firewall/Antivirus:

  • Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software and attempt to print again. Sometimes, security software can interfere with printing.

Check for Updates:

  • Ensure that both your operating system and the printer firmware are up to date.

Paper and Ink:

  • Make sure that there is enough paper in the tray, and the ink or toner levels are sufficient.

Reinstall the Printer:

  • Remove the printer from your computer, restart the computer, and then reinstall the printer.

Remember to follow the troubleshooting steps in order and test the printer after each step to see if the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
