I have a new computer that I want to use with my OfficeJet 4315 printer - including scanning. This link does not help - it doesn't have the actual driver - it just gives directions about using Windows Built In driver - and Windows doesn't recognize this printer. Where can I get the actual download of the driver for this printer, please? Thank you!

Hello @Geri511 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Your printer is very old!
Maybe this information will help you here: HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver
Hope this helps!

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.
The Windows 10 print drivers do not include your printer series (I just checked).
What to do?
Honestly, this is way outside of my area of expertise - but I can offer a possible glimmer of hope.
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=officejet%204300
Possibly one of these - the actual download, should you want to try it, is in the catalog...
HP Inc. - Other hardware, Printer - Officejet 4300 series (DOT4) | Windows 10 and later drivers,Windows 10 and Later Servicing Drivers for testing | Drivers (Other Hardware) | 9/15/2015 | 12.3.0.2 | 13.2 MB |
HP Inc. - Other hardware, Printer - Officejet 4300 series (DOT4) | Windows 7,Windows 8,Windows 8.1 Drivers | Drivers (Other Hardware) | 5/16/2013 | 1.0.0.208 | 13.2 MB |
The second one, at least, does not say "servicing" - I don't know what that means, but it might be "odd".
OR.. could be one of the driver pieces on the page. ? Or none. Could be dead-end.
What to make it work?
Again, BIG guess:
This may be relevant to Windows 10 - after all, even "10" still has lots of previous windows elements living inside it...
HP Printers - Installing an Alternate USB Print Driver (Windows 😎
NOTE:
Assuming the alternate / recommended "Deskjet" driver works at all - if the port needs to be changed to DOT4, this document explains how to do that.
What else?
No idea - like I said, way outside of my area of expertise...
You might be able to find a way to get the printer to at least function on a basic level.
Like @Andr-1611 says, this is a dinosaur printer.
Good Luck.

Ok,
here: HP Universal Print Driver for Windows - PCL 6
or
you need a Windows XP (32-bit) System and get here the full driver support.
or
you need a new printer.
Best regards and a Happy New Year 2021
Andreas
