Had to replace Modem. Trying to reconnect Printer. Can’t remember password. Need to find password or reset.

I understand you have trouble with the password issue. Here’s how you can reset or recover the Wi-Fi connection/password for your HP ENVY 6030 All-In-One Printer, especially after changing your modem:

Option 1: Finding the Existing Password (Wireless Network)

  1. Check the Printer Information Sheet:
    • Printers often print network information sheets that include the network password.
    • On your printer, go to the Wireless Settings menu and look for Print Network Configuration Page or Wireless Test Report.
    • This page may include the wireless password if it was set up through HP software.
  2. Using HP Smart App:
    • If your printer is connected to the HP Smart app on a mobile device:
      • Open the HP Smart app.
      • Select your printer.
      • Go to Network Information and see if the password is displayed.


Option 2: Resetting the Wireless Settings (Wi-Fi Password Reset)

To reset the wireless settings and reconnect to your new modem, you can use the printer's touch screen panel.

  1. Restore Network Settings on the Printer:
    • On the printer’s touch screen, navigate to the Wireless menu.
    • Select Settings.
    • Choose Restore Network Settings or Network Reset.
    • Confirm the reset.
  2. Reconnecting the Printer to Wi-Fi:
    • After restoring the network settings, go to the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the new Wi-Fi password.


Option 3: Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

If your new modem supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can use this method to reconnect your printer without a password.

  1. Enable WPS Setup on the Printer:
    • On the printer’s touch screen, go to Wireless settings.
    • Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS.
  2. Press the WPS Button on the Modem:
    • Press the WPS button on your modem.
    • Follow the prompts on the printer to connect.
