Hi @bcapelli,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you have trouble with the password issue. Here’s how you can reset or recover the Wi-Fi connection/password for your HP ENVY 6030 All-In-One Printer, especially after changing your modem:
Option 1: Finding the Existing Password (Wireless Network)
- Check the Printer Information Sheet:
- Printers often print network information sheets that include the network password.
- On your printer, go to the Wireless Settings menu and look for Print Network Configuration Page or Wireless Test Report.
- This page may include the wireless password if it was set up through HP software.
- Using HP Smart App:
- If your printer is connected to the HP Smart app on a mobile device:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Select your printer.
- Go to Network Information and see if the password is displayed.
- If your printer is connected to the HP Smart app on a mobile device:
Option 2: Resetting the Wireless Settings (Wi-Fi Password Reset)
To reset the wireless settings and reconnect to your new modem, you can use the printer's touch screen panel.
- Restore Network Settings on the Printer:
- On the printer’s touch screen, navigate to the Wireless menu.
- Select Settings.
- Choose Restore Network Settings or Network Reset.
- Confirm the reset.
- Reconnecting the Printer to Wi-Fi:
- After restoring the network settings, go to the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the new Wi-Fi password.
Option 3: Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
If your new modem supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can use this method to reconnect your printer without a password.
- Enable WPS Setup on the Printer:
- On the printer’s touch screen, go to Wireless settings.
- Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS.
- Press the WPS Button on the Modem:
- Press the WPS button on your modem.
- Follow the prompts on the printer to connect.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
