Dell Inspiron
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently purchased a new laptop, and trying to get my applicable HP software to install for my 8625 printer. During the software installation process, the software searches for my printer, but cannot find it so the installation never fully completes.

Windows sees the printer on my new computer via wireless

The HP software recognizes the printer when trying to determine the HP equipment I have. Windows recognizes the printer, and I can print documents.

However I just can't seem to get the HP software to find it so I can install the utility. I need this for scanning.

Tried the HP scan doctor, the Troubleshoot HP installation Failure Network Tool. No Success.

The Printer Wireless test repot indicates that it is on the network and it IP.

I'd love to trash my old computer, but I can't until I get this scanner utility working! Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you uninstall the driver from root level and download the full feature software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

Thank you

Thanks for your help.

I had previously tried everything except deleting the driver, unfortunately that still did not resolve the issue.

Followed your steps and I still get hung on the wireless connect step. Software eventually times out.

Any options for remote connection? I'm trying to retire my old desktop and this is the only step left 😉
