I am having trouble connecting my HP Deskjet In Advantage 2135 Printer to my MacBook Air 13 which is updated to MacOS 15.2. Even after following all the instructions and after downloading the essential software - it is unable to configure to the HP Driver software. Is there anyone that can help please?

Hi @Adrie31,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing difficulty connecting your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2135 printer to your MacBook Air running macOS 15.2. Here are some steps and suggestions to troubleshoot and get your printer connected successfully.

Check for the correct driver:

  • Ensure that you are downloading the correct driver for macOS 15.2 from the official HP website.
  • You can download the driver directly from HP's official website.

Uninstall previous drivers:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Remove any existing printer configuration related to your printer.
  • Next, download and install the latest driver from HP's website.

Reset the printing system:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the + button to add a printer.
  • Select Reset printing system from the bottom of the dialog.
  • Add the printer again.

Make sure your printer is powered on:

  • Ensure that your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2135 printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook.

Manually configure the printer:

  • If the printer doesn’t appear automatically, try configuring it manually:
    • Click on the + icon in the Printers & Scanners window.
    • Select Add Printer or Scanner.
    • Click IP at the top of the Add Printer window.
    • Enter the printer's IP address (usually something like 192.168.x.x).
    • Set the protocol to Line Printer Daemon (LPD) and type the queue name (raw).
    • Click Add.

Check firewall settings:

  • Ensure that your MacBook's firewall isn't blocking the printer.
  • You can allow the necessary printer-related ports (e.g., 631 and 137-139) through the firewall.

Reinstall software:

  • Remove the downloaded drivers and install them again directly from HP's website.

Note:

  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is stable.
  • Restart both your MacBook Air and the printer.
  • Make sure the printer is not on sleep mode or has any error messages.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
