My HP Photosmart 5524 app is Intel based. I have recently had this repeating message from Apple telling me that it will not work with future releases of MacOS. Apparently I need an update to silicon or universal version. I have no idea how to do that!

Hi @organicbob,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I hear that your HP Photosmart 5524 Printer is getting an error: Support Ending for Intel-Based Apps.
- Open the Finder and click on Applications.
- Look for any HP folders (such as HP, Hewlett-Packard, or HP Smart).
- Drag these folders to the Trash and empty the trash.
- Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and select System Settings (or System Preferences on older Macs).
- Scroll down and click on Printers & Scanners.
- If your HP Photosmart 5524 is listed, select it and click Remove Printer or - to delete it.
- Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax or the + button.
- Select your Photosmart 5524 from the list.
- In the Use or Print Using drop-down menu, choose AirPrint or Secure AirPrint. (Do not select the older "HP" driver option).
- Click Add.
I hope this will help.
Take care and have a good day.
