something with language of browser

have to select another 'supported' language but none of them work

Software and driver updates did not solve it.

@terryharte, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error OP_404_LINS00001_XX during the final step of setup typically relates to a language or regional mismatch in the HP Smart app or browser settings. Here's how you can resolve it:

Check Browser Language Settings:

  • Open your default browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge).
  • Go to Settings > Languages.
  • Ensure English (United States) or another supported language is set as the default.
  • Remove unsupported or regional variants that might conflict.

Clear Browser Cache:

  • Clear cookies and cache from your browser to remove any stored regional settings that might interfere.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall the current HP Smart app.
  • Download the latest version directly from the HP Smart App page.

Use HP Smart Web Setup (Alternative):

Temporarily Disable VPN or Proxy:

  • If you're using a VPN, disable it during setup. VPNs can cause region mismatches that trigger this error.

Try a Different Device or Network:

  • If the issue persists, try completing the setup on a different PC or mobile device with the HP Smart app installed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
