Tazgo121 - the problem is that the printer takes itself offline while it is doing the search for the update - and it stays offline when the download fails. Clicking "OK" after the download fails basically restarts the printer, which eventually puts the printer back online, but only after quite a time. It's not good and HP need to fix this problem.  My temporary fix is to prevent internet access for the printer - which can be done with some home internet routers, but this is not a good long-term solution.

Yep. When I try to access the printer over my network I get the message below. Suggests the printer is online but not working as required. Pressing the OK button as you suggest corrects this error.

I think that there may now be a solution available. This site gives instructions:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16 It takes you to a firmware download for the HP8025 where the file OJP8020_8030_2314A.exe can be downloaded.

Make sure your printer is awake and network connected then on your PC run the downloaded file.

Unlike previous attempts there is now an option to update the printer  and, at least in my case, it did so. I hope that is the end of the problem.

Thank you for your advice but where do I find update hardware? Thanks

Assuming you are on Windows, go to: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/printers

Enter your model and select it

Expand the "Printer Firmware..." section.

It may/should show a May 2023 update file, download and run the file and from there it should allow you to select your printer and update the firmware.

Thank you so much. It’s very much appreciated 😊

From the page I sent the link to select "

Download printer firmware from the HP website (Windows)

This takes you to another page. In my case the printer model was already registered but you might need to enter the details of your own.

Once your model is know click on

Printer Firmware-Keeps your printer updated with latest fixes (1)

And select the download link to download the latest update. Then run it on your PC
