I'm using an OJ Pro 8600 Plus with a 2020 iMac running on Big Sur updated to 11.4. Maybe a recent update is causing a conflict, but while I can scan with the iMac (from EasyScan and from the printer's display screen) I can no longer print, either from the iMac or from a Windows PC on the network. Both computers are ethernet cabled to the router. The printer is set up wirelessly and can also be USB cabled to the iMac. I've fiddled with every setting, uninstalled and reinstalled, unplugged and replugged, consulted Apple and HP Support's virtual agent. Nothing. Nada. Rien. Nichts. If the printer communicates with the iMac for scanning, why can't the iMac tell the printer to print? The print queue tells me it's trying to find the printer, or it's waiting, or something like that. I believe I have the latest driver, from HP Support. Maybe they haven't caught up with Big Sur's latest? Could that cause this scan-but-not-print situation? Or maybe the trouble has nothing to do with it. I'm lost.

I should add that from the HP Utility I can print the self-test page, so that is further evidence that the computer is communicating with the printer. I do see notification that I have non-mfr cartridges, but that doesn't stop the printer from handling the self-test page. It's just that I can't order it to print a document or anything else beyond the self-test.
I.e.: Nothing. Nada. Rien. Nichts. Zip.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that after the OS update you are unable to print, this seems to be a driver issue.
Follow these steps to fix the issue:-
Remove and add the printer using Airprint
Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.
Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.
Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then delete the printer.
Click the Plus sign, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.
Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint
Click Add to add the printer to the list.
Try to print.
Update macOS on Mac
- From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences.
- Click Software Update.
- Click Update Now or Upgrade Now
Let me know how it goes.

Sorry for the late reply: traveling. Also sorry to say your suggestion didn't help.
I gave up and uninstalled everything and tried to go back and start from scratch. Without an installation CD (which I believe I had first time around with this device). I can't find simple instructions to follow--the User Guide doesn't tell much--so I'm just flying by the seat of my pants, and so far I'm a little worse off than before. Now from the Windows 10 computer on the network the printer is recognized, it's declared "ready," and when I send it a document to print...nothing. From the iMac (11.4) that supposedly hosts the printer, which I installed with a USB cable connection, the situation is similar: The queue says "Ready to print" but nothing happens. Scan from the printer to the iMac also fails: no connection. (Although I can scan to a flash drive and transfer the result to the computer that way.)
I'm lost.

Thanks for the suggestion, but this printer is out of warranty, and I've found HP Support less than friendly to fossil customers.
FWIW to anyone reading, here's my workaround (which I should've thought to try earlier): I installed the printer to a Windows machine operating on the network. Piece of cake. And I can print from the iMac as well as the Windows PC. Maybe eventually, Apple and HP will learn to play better together, but I'm not holding me breath.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
