I have a HP Laser Jet CP 1525nw. I have the latest drive for it installed. My OS is Apple Mac Monterey 12.6. My issue is that I have some B&W photos (grey scale) that I wish to print using grey scale printing ie. with black ink only. But the default settings are for photos to be printed using all 4 colors. This does not give me a true B&W photo. There is always a color tint. Try as I might I can't how to change that setting in current. I used to be able to print grey scale with black ink only. But in the current drivers with Apple no option exists to change that. How do I do it?

Hi,
Try following the Resolution section below, I believe this should help:
Following the driver installation follow the steps below in order to print using Black Ink only:
1. From the application used to print, click the File menu and select Print.
The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized: Click the blue triangle next to the product model (Mac OS X v10.5 or v10.6) or the Show Details button ( Mac OS X v10.7 Lion) to see all available settings.
2. To access the color options, click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
3. Select Paper Type/Quality from the drop-down menu.
4. Click the triangle next to Color Options to expend the settings.
5. Set the Color field as Grayscale.
6. Set the Grayscale Mode as Black Ink Cartridge Only.
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset...

Thanks Shlomil,
Sort of helpful but not helpful at same time. I have in part resolved it by turning off HP colour option and reverting to printing using standard RGB. At least I am getting close to B&W images (grey scale) without so much tint. But still do not have the option to select Black ink only to print Grey Scale photos.
None of the things like little Blue triangles etc. seem to there. I think it because I have Monterey 12.6 where as you seem to be referring to far earlier OS.
But thanks all the same. I'll keep working on it.

This is incorrect @RichardTur, your printer is supported by the listed driver, as part of the CP1520 Series:
