photosmart 5510 B111a

Hello,

I have an HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One Printer - B111a which I bought long ago and stopped using while I was living abroad. So, recently I decided to use it again and started by installing the latest drivers on my new computer. Since the original cartridge 564 were not working (maybe too old), I checked on HP page where the use of HP 364 cartridges is recommended now (Hp 364 Black and three Colours Ink Cartridges). So, I ordered for the Hp 364 Ink Cartridges. But the printer wouldn't set up and issued a message that the cartridges are not compatible.

I tried to update the microsoftware as recommended on the HP assistance page, but it didn't work.

I even used the Hp Support Assistant software (Hp Print and Scan Doctor) without success. I don't seem to understand it because these are genuine Hp 364 Ink Cartridges.

What can I do to resolve this issue? Only the scanner of the printer is working currently.

Regards,

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

The Cartridge numbers vary from Region to Region.

May I know in which country are you located and where did you purchase the printer?

For this Printer Model here are the cartridges Numbers

Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-5510-e-all-in-one-printer-series-b111/5053904/mod...

US and Asia Pacific regions uses Cartridge number 564 and Western Europe 364

If your printer was purchased in US then you cannot use Cartridge 364 unless you do a regionalisation reset

But the reset is only done for customers who have moved to another Country ( Region ) and still uses their same printer

Thank you

Hello and thank you for your answer.

Indeed, this is a good question. I bought the printer while living in South Korea (564) and moved back to France.

If i understand correctly, in this case I should reset the printer settings.

Could you please let me know how to do that in order to be able to use the cartridge 364?

Kind regards,
