Photosmart C410a
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Screen says:

Server Connection Error:

"There was a problem connecting to the server.  Press (arrow) to connect again.  Or 'ok' to exit."

I'm stuck in this screen, and if I hit ok, it takes me to 'Quick Forms'...and I cannot get out of that.

Fortunately, I am able to print from my computer.  But that's it.  I cannot copy from the  scan bed, or fax.

I have downloaded scan doctor and the solution center, but I"m not sure what to do now.  I've ran through the scan Doc, but its not fixed the problem.

I ran out to get an (apparantly awesome) epson printer, and I hate it...I'm returning it this week-BUT I've got to get this  error off the HP, so that I can use it like I've always used it! I'm pretty upset, since I've loved my HP.  Epson is junk.

Help Me Please,  and Thanks in Advance ! Jody

I had this exact same problem. I dont know if theres a "better way" but I did as follows and it stopped...for now...

If you hit back it retries to connect. in that instant I hit the cancel button and then the eprint button and then OK. the message came back up but when i hit OK to cancel it went back to the main screen and stayed. It has not come back yet but we shall see. Hopefully we can get an answer form HP?

WOW!  It worked!  I'm at the home screen again, after 2 weeks of trying to figure it out- thank YOU!

I'm wondering though- would HP please 'chime in' on why this happened, and how to be careful, so that it does not repeat.

I'm afraid to navigate on the screen lol- for fear of upsetting the printer again.

Thank you

Took a little trial and error to get to that conclusion but I'm glad it worked for you too. If I had to guess, HP might have discontinued the web services that this printer used and just messed things up. But yeah, hopefully we can get an actual response.

I had exact same problem which was bugging me for weeks and I thank you very much for solving it. After this I updated the printer from the settings menu - setup, preferences, product updates.
Now eprint is fully functional again although it looks like HP are no longer offering any apps service direct from this printer

Hello from Germany,

i have the same problem. I can not use the WebServices. If i press the Button "Apps", i can not return to the Home-Screen, i have this problem during the last 2 Days.

I reset the print to default settings, i set a static IP-Adresse, i deactivated BonJour, I set DNS to IP of my Router (no changes >> Web Services was inactive) I set DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS) >> Web Services can not be Activated.

I have the

Firmwareversion VAx2FN1631AR

Is that the current firmware? Can me help someone here? HP Supplieres can not answer of any question (Facebook; Twitter or Forum)

This was a very bad Support from HP.... Or has the printer reached the end of the support for the web services and the list is not up-to-date?

Worked for me too. The trick of hitting OK after the error message comes back took me a few times to get right.

I've read in another forum post that changing the DNS settings used by the printer can restore the functionality, but that might be for a different printer.

Thanks for the help. I'd just updated the firmware of my printer (for the first time) and wondered if that was a new bug.
